Bieber sings, dances and occasionally gets arrested. Banting has been saving the lives of diabetics worldwide for 90 years.
If you’re looking for overrated and underrated Canadians, those two are a good place start start.
They’ll also provide a good finish for our Most Overrated/Underrated Canadians competition, which is now down to four finalists. We started two weeks ago with 32 Canadians in each category, and your votes have gradually eliminated the pretenders.

Now, the contenders:
For Most Overrated Canadian, it’s R&B bad boy Bieber facing off against high-collar hockey analyst Don Cherry.

And for the title of Most Underrated Canadian, Banting takes on marathoner of hope Terry Fox.
Bieber has laid waste to all his competition so far in the Most Overrated competition, easily dispatching of Tom Cochrane, Margaret Atwood, Avril Lavigne and even Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger. But he’s up against his toughest opponent yet in Don Cherry. The octogenarian hockey analyst has knocked off heavyweights such as B.C. premier Christy Clark and Baywatch bombshell Pamela Anderson en route to the final.
In the Most Underrated competition, B.C.’s beloved cancer crusader Terry Fox scored a solid semifinal win over the very underrated tennis player Daniel Nestor to set up a dream final against Banting. Banting not only got a handle on diabetes, he also handled Lester B. Pearson and Christine Sinclair on his march to the final.
